Former CEO of 3 Media Networks Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu has in an interview cautioned African artistes on their performance rates and charges for both home events and international concerts.
According to him, African musicians are charging top dollar amounts for event appearances and performances.
This statements were made in an interview on TV3 Ghana‘s morning show the New Day in response to Burna Boy’s claim that he declined a $5 million offer to perform at Saudi Arabia because he was not allowed to smoke there and also Rema charging $500,000 per show.
According to him, when African artistes are demanding such huge amounts of money, it makes them difficult to access and book shows and events especially those organized by local event brands who can barely pay that much to book just an artiste.
