Black Sherif to Showcase at Rolling Stone Future of Music Showcase at SXSW

Rolling Stone, the iconic music and culture magazine, is set to host its second-annual Future of Music showcase at the South by Southwest® (SXSW®) music festival in Austin. The four-night concert series, presented by StockX, will feature a diverse lineup of emerging artists, including Ghanaian sensation Black Sherif. The showcase, scheduled from March 12 to March 15 at ACL Live at The Moody Theater, promises to celebrate the sounds of tomorrow and highlight the artists shaping the future of music.

The Future of Music concert series, coinciding with Rolling Stone’s Future of Music print issue hitting newsstands in April, will showcase talent from the second annual Future 25 list. This list, curated by Rolling Stone, identifies artists that the publication’s staff is most excited about for the future of music in 2024 and beyond.

Black Sherif, known for his captivating and unique musical style, is set to perform on Thursday, March 14, alongside other noteworthy artists like Flo Milli and Uncle Waffles. The showcase will also feature an opening performance by Preacher, presented by ~POURRI, followed by a special guest appearance by Pheelz.

The inaugural Future of Music showcase last year attracted 12,000 attendees over four consecutive nights and featured a 24-artist roster, including notable talents such as Chloe Bailey, Mariah the Scientist, and Cuco. This year’s lineup continues the tradition of highlighting diverse voices and innovative sounds across genres.

The event is open to all SXSW badge holders and the public, with badge holders receiving priority admission. Doors open daily at 5:30 PM, and entry for the general public is on a first-come, first-served basis.

In addition to the music performances, the Future of Music showcase aims to support mental health initiatives in the music industry. Rolling Stone, in collaboration with Hi How Are You, will display merchandise and the iconic mural painted by Daniel Johnston.

Rolling Stone journalists will provide live coverage throughout March 12-15, delivering the latest news and festival updates. Music enthusiasts can stay tuned to RollingStone.com and @rollingstone on Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and Facebook for real-time updates and announcements. The Future of Music showcase promises to be a vibrant celebration of emerging talent and a testament to the dynamic future of the global music landscape.
