King Paluta Sets Sight on Ghana Music Awards’ Best New Artiste of the Year Category

Charterhouse is gearing up for the 25th edition of the Ghana Music Awards, scheduled for the second quarter of the year.

In the second month of the year 2024, the awards scheme initiated its portal for nomination submissions from interested Ghanaian musicians. Leading up to the event, Kumasi-based rapper King Paluta expressed aspirations of securing the Best New Artiste of the Year category.

Charterhouse describes the winner of the Best New Artiste of the Year category at the Ghana Music Awards as a budding artist or group who launched a single, EP, or album that solidifies their public persona during the review year.

In a recent interview, King Paluta reflected on his achievements in the past year, citing hits like “Ya Hitte” and “Sika Aba Fie.” YEN.com.gh spoke with entertainment analyst and music executive Yaw Boadu-Ayeboafoh about King Paluta’s prospects. Boadu-Ayeboafoh remarked, “King Paluta has a strong chance of clinching the new artist of the year award. He’s had a remarkable year and has consistently worked hard over the years, earning popularity among grassroots fans beyond just one hit single.” However, he faces tough competition, with OlivetheBoy emerging as a frontrunner, having had an equally impressive year. Another contender worth noting is Banzy Banero, but the top two favorites remain OlivetheBoy and King Paluta.

Benblaynews gathered a few comments from netizens in reaction to King Paluta’s hopes for the Best New Artiste of the Year category.
