Gyakie, the sensational singer-songwriter, has achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first Ghanaian female artist to reach 100 million streams on Boomplay, Africa’s leading music streaming and download platform.
The milestone was announced by Boomplay Ghana on their social media platforms, congratulating the “Forever” hitmaker for joining the prestigious Boomplay Golden Club. Gyakie joins the likes of few Ghanaian artists to attain this fea including Black Sherif, Sarkodie, Stobebwoy and Shatta Wale who hit 100 million streams on the streaming platform.
Gyakie, whose real name is Jackline Acheampong, rose to fame with her debut EP “Seed”, which was released in August 2020. The EP featured five songs, including the viral smash “Forever”, which topped charts across Africa and beyond. The EP has amassed over 11 million streams across all platforms².
Gyakie has also collaborated with some of the biggest names in the African music scene, such as Omah Lay, Davido, and many others. She has performed at various events and festivals, such as the the Ghana Party in the Park, and the Afro Nation Festival, AfroNation and more. She has also received several nominations and awards, such as the 3Music Awards, the Ghana Music Awards, and the MTV Africa Music Awards.
